Rationale Technical requirements of AMS2430 are not sufficient to control shot peening performed using batch processing equipment. Some aerospace part configurations such as coil springs are more appropriately peened with batch processing equipment, and have historically been peened in this fashion using MIL/AMS-S-13165 with or without supplemental controls and requirements.
