Advanced Composites Prepreg - Nominal 250 °F Cure - Carbon Fiber and Epoxy Resin, Unidirectional Tape
This specification establishes the requirements for a nominal 250 °F cure epoxy preimpregnated carbon fiber unidirectional tape product. This material is intended for use in laminate applications with a service temperature of -65 to 180 °F. The composite may be used for the manufacture of primary and secondary aircraft structure.
Clarify the scope of specification by adding revision control, removing Toray test procedures in reference section, removing specific width tolerances, correcting material use for hand lay-up and automated tape laying (ATL) machine, correcting prepreg requirements and adding prepreg shelf life extension, adding new HPLC (method II) requirements, correcting the cool down temp and cool down rate of cure cycle, and made clear the laminate Tg (Dry) testing of specimens.
