This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, forgings, and flash welded rings 4.000 inches (101.60 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and of stock for forging and flash welded rings.
As presented and approved at the Spring meeting in Austin TX, I propose raising the Hydrogen max allowable PPM from 125 PPM to 150 PPM (Table 1). This brings AMS-4965K in synch with specifications for the same alloy in the same heat treated condition. Specifically, AMS-6930D, AMS-T-9047A, MIL-T-9047G, for Solution treated and Aged Product, have maximum Hydrogen content values set at 150 PPM.
