Guidelines for Critical Clamp Marker Installation on Electrical Cable Assemblies
Specifies the recommended methods of marking electrical wiring and harness to aid in the location of supporting clamps during electrical wiring and cable assembly installation in an aircraft. Protection of the harness depends on proper primary and secondary support. The primary support must be installed in specific ways in certain locations to provide required clearances, to prevent damage associated with chafing of aircraft structure or interference with the operation of mechanical linkages, and moving mechanical parts.
Critical clamp markers are to be added to the next revision of AS50881. The AS50881 task group recommended an ARP be developed for guidance on how clamp markers should be applied to wire harnesses
