Rationale Helicopter upper boost actuators may use a single flight critical control valve to control the flight path of the vehicle. Failures of this type of valve (i.e. jam) can result in a loss of life and aircraft. Specific precautions must be used to provide proper valve operation over the life of the aircraft. This ARP would provide design and test guidance to reduce over all flight risk. Other aircraft have valves which mat result is severeflight control degradatin in the event of a control valve failure. This specification or elements thereof may also be used to reduce over all flight risk.
