The configuration management is requested from airworthiness point of view but not only. The mains requirement from the regulation are the following: Rationale The reason for this guidance report on change management is to recommend procedures and practices that clarify the level of risk associated with changes to an engine control system. In turn, there are recommendations reagarding the engineering processes that should accompany the various levels of risk in order to keep the risk of unforseen effects as low as is reasonably possible. Guidance is also provided on the batching of changes and the communication of the changes taking place between supplier and customer including the amount of information to be communicated.
