A Guideline for Aerospace Platform Photonics Training and Awareness Education Photonics Technician Operator Hands-on Competencies
This document establishes training guidelines applicable to aerospace photonics technician operator technical training for individuals involved in the manufacturing, installation, support, integration and testing of photonic systems. Photonics technicians work in jobs where they assemble, measure, test, and repair optical components such as lenses, mirrors, filters, and optical sources such as lasers and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Applicable personnel include: Managers, Engineers, Technicians, Trainers/Instructors, Third Party Maintenance Agencies, Quality Assurance, and Production
The Aerospace industry has always required the highest standards of workmanship to be maintained. To ensure that the Aerospace photonics industry adopts these same high standards, it’s essential that minimum training and certification requirements be established. This document outlines the minimum training requirements for all personnel working as aerospace photonics technician operators in accordance with aerospace industry best practices.
