Stripline Test Method to characterize the shielding effectiveness of conductive EMI gasketsI up to 40 GHz
The standard will describe an easy to handle stripline fixture and a measuring method in order to characterize the shielding of conductive gaskets up to 40 GHz .
This new work proposal is intended to provide a test method to characterize the shielding effectiveness of conductive EMI gaskets up to 40 GHz. At this moment, test methods are only available up to a maximum of 18 GHz and require large samples of materials. In the EMC domain, FCC requires nowadays already testing of electronic equipment up to 40 GHz, under certain conditions. The new test method allows also the use of small samples of material and is very easy to handle. It may interact directly with standardized methods to characterize IC's. The system has been developed by the EMC laboratory of KULeuven (BE) under the direct supervision of Prof.dr.ir. Johan Catrysse. The method has already been validated in practice and is described in literature.
