Document Number: ARP6467 Project Initiation: 04-13-2012 Project Number: Revision Number: Sponsor Name: Kathie Hoekstra Title Cockpit Display of Data Linked Aeronautical Information Scope This Aerospace Recommended Practices (ARP) includes human factors recommendations for the cockpit display of dynamic data linked Aeronautical Information (AI). Dynamic AI, as defined by RTCA Special Committee (SC) 206, represents changes such as closures or obstacles to static AI including airports/aerodromes and airspace. This ARP makes human factors recommendations for the text, graphics, colors, textures and symbols of dynamic AI. It recommends how to display and control dynamic information in cockpits of certified civil aircraft equipped (whether installed or portable) for the display of dynamic AI. This ARP does not address certification issues or the operational approval of electronic displays nor of AI applications. These recommendations do not replace guidelines or requirements for existing airborne applications or displays. Rationale Currently, a number of AI products are being implemented in cockpits using different ways to represent AI. RTCA SC 206 has requested a set of recommendations based on information and workload management, situation awareness and crew training best practices.
