MIL-1553 physical layer can be used for the development of robust distributed systems with upto 32 TTP nodes, with communication speeds upto 5 MBit/s and with databus length >100m. Rationale Significant installed base and infrastructure for MIL-1553 could simplify use of TTP in new programs and enable upgrades of MIL-1553-based systems with new capabilities.
