Rationale There is no specification coverage for MIL-S-38249 (cancelled) firewall sealants. The SAE AMS3374 silicone firewall sealant spec is not appropriate for polysulfide base firewall sealant materials. A new spec would be patterned after AMS3374, but define a polysulfide base material and its properties.
