Title
Brake Drag Measurement Test Procedure For Vehicles Below 4 540 kg GVWR
Scope
This Recommended Practice is derived from: Federal Transportation Procedures for fuel economy (FTP-75, EPA Highway Cycle ― HFET, US06 Aggressive Driving Cycle, and SC03 Air Condition Cycle vehicle test), key sections from standard inertia-dynamometer performance testing, and inertia-dynamometer duplication of city traffic routes protocols. In order to allow a comprehensive brake drag measurement and characterization, the test includes brake drag measurement throughout the test. This test procedure measures brake drag in a controlled and repeatable environment. This Recommended Practices is for vehicles equipped with hydraulic brakes (disc or drum) with a GVWR less than 4540 kg.
