This report will document Runway Condition Monitoring systems that provide information intended to reduce or eliminate aircraft runway excursions or overruns that may occur as a result of poor runway conditions.
Rationale: This SAE Aerospace Information Report is intended to provide comprehensive reference and background information pertaining to runway condition monitoring systems. These systems can be located either remotely or onboard an aircraft and use the aircraft’s data to produce a standardized level of wheel braking performance reporting used by airport operators and pilots.
