This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is intended to provide an airframe manufacturer or landing gear system supplier guidance for planning a landing gear system development program and is intended to provide a comprehensive plan pertaining to the development of aircraft landing gear systems. ARP1598 is being updated to Revision C due to technological advancements that have improved the development process; noted references, including editorial improvements, have been updated as well.
