SAE International is both leader and partner in mobility standards development worldwide. Through its renowned consensus based program and as a partner organization, SAE plays a central and comprehensive role in creating harmonized solutions for the advancement of global mobility.
More than 14,000 mobility and related industry professionals play active roles in maintaining and growing the collection of more than 9,000 documents of the SAE technical standards development program. Serving the commercial and military aerospace, automotive, and commercial vehicle industries, participation in the development of standards documents is sought from airframers, OEMs, suppliers, standards users, government agencies and regulatory groups worldwide.
Participation in the SAE standards development program is voluntary and is achieved through service on one or more of the program's 700 Technical Committees as governed by the organization's Technical Standards Board and its aerospace and ground vehicle councils.
