G-13 Human Modeling Technology

This committee has the responsibility and authority to develop standards to facilitate human factors assessment for equipment design.

For this committee, human modeling technology is intended to:

•	Improve design quality with respect to human factors
•	Support the definition of design requirements
•	Demonstrate physical interaction between the human and the system
•	Identify risks and costs associated with the man-in-the-loop
•	SAE Digital Human Modeling for Design and Engineering International Conference & Exposition

Activities beyond the scope of this committee include:

•	Modeling and simulation independent of the human
•	Simulation strictly intended for non-engineering uses (e.g., training and entertainment)
