Scope

Standards development activities encompass those related to agricultural tractors, their components (or systems) and their interface with agricultural machines. These activities shall enhance and promote performance, efficiency, interchangeability, and safety in agricultural operations. Such activities include those involved in design, development, testing, application, operation, and maintenance.

ATSC maintains close liason with the Equipment Manufacturers Institute (EMI) and appropriate US TAGS of ISO to permit the optimization of efforts in developing standards which are of service to tractors users, industry, and government.

Our committee is made up of engineers who work for the agricultural tractor manufacturing industry without regard to background or professional society affiliation. It is set up as a joint committee between ASAE and SAE since they are the professional societies which serve as the facilitators writing standards for this industry.

This committee also meets the goal of having one body which serves the entire industry promulgating these standards thus reducing the amount of time members spend attending meetings.
