Scope
It shall be the responsibility of the Truck and Bus Chassis and Powertrain Committee of the SAE Truck and Bus Council to initiate, develop, review, and approve Recommended Practices, Standards, Draft Technical Reports, Technical Data Reports, and Information Reports related to the frame, steering, brake, wheel, and suspension portions of trucks, tractor-trailer combinations, buses, and their unique components and accessories. Included are trucks, tractor-trailer combinations, and buses of all weight categories intended for highway use.

The Truck and Bus Chassis and Powertrain Committee shall have authority to establish appropriate subcommittees to develop the above documents and to discharge the subcommittees when assignments are completed.
