Scope
The Ship Systems and Equipment Committee (SS&EC) shall develop and maintain SAE Standards, Recommended Practices and Information Reports for the development, production, application and testing of ship systems and equipment.
The Committee shall develop and maintain SAE Standards, Recommended Practices and Information Reports for the development, production, application and testing of ship systems and equipment. While this scope is rather broad the Committee has focused on fluid power systems and fasteners.
Other systems and equipment can be covered if they are not the responsibility of another technical committee.
The following Subcommittees carry out the Committee's activities:
S1 Fluid Systems and Components
S2 Fasteners
S3 System Cleanliness Filters
The Committee's activities and documents do not apply to personal watercraft recreational vehicles.
