Storage Battery Standards Committee

Scope:
The scope of the Storage Battery Standards Committee is to create and maintain performance, durability, safety, control and interface (electrical, electronic and mechanical) standards for electrical energy storage devices used for engine starting and electrical load support in on-road ground vehicles (passenger car, light, medium and heavy trucks) having an internal combustion engine for primary motive power. In addition, this shall include components related to emergency starting and standby/backup power for critical electrical subsystems of the vehicle.
