Fuel cell technology continues to attract a great deal of interest as an alternative power source to the internal combustion engine. Substantial technical progress has been made and the appearance of the first vehicles offered in the commercial market mark a significant step. However, broad application and the eventual success of fuel cell technology in vehicles remain elusive.

In this second edition of Fuel Cell Technology for Vehicles, the latest research and technological advances in fuel cell technology are examined via 53 SAE Technical Papers and several articles from the Journal of Power Sources, plus bibliographical data for nearly 200 documents published by SAE and other leading sources.
