Abstract:
In the field of automation within the Aerospace industry, Parallel Kinematics Machines (PKM) are well known with over 50 machines installed. The remaining technical problem, preventing this technology from getting into more manufacturing areas within Aerospace, is what is significant for all PKM machines; the problem of the joints. Joints are complex and difficult to manufacture backlash free, with high stiffness, to the right cost, and this is also the reason why Exechon has developed a totally new Parallel Kinematics concept, called Exechon, to be able to satisfy the Aerospace and Automotive industry needs for flexible manufacturing technology.
