Abstract:
Dutch policy and activities regarding safety of road vehicles are reviewed. Research by private institution has increased and international requirements are being prepared. Fatalities and injuries have decreased. Safety areas under consideration include car construction for pedestrian safety and safer vehicles for the handicapped. Seat belt use, helmets and safety seats for children are being explored.
