Fundamentals of Drivetrain Systems Certificate Program
This four-course package is designed to familiarize engineers with key drivetrain components and how those components function as a system. The drivetrain system in this context includes the powerplant and all other components involved in transmitting power to the wheels. While braking systems play a significant role in modern drivetrain applications, particularly with ABS and VSC systems, they are addressed separately in other SAE courses. The certificate program offers a package of courses that address the most salient fundamental topics, concepts, and practices within the drivetrain systems defined body of knowledge. By completing the certificate, engineers can heighten their expertise within the drivetrain arena and, at the same time, earn an SAE credential recognizing them for having done so. Upon completing each individual course, an SAE Certificate of Achievement is awarded, issuing the designated number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs). After taking all four courses, a comprehensive certificate is awarded, recognizing completion of the entire certificate program. Completing the Fundamentals of Drivetrain Systems Certificate also equates to 4 graduate credits towards the SAE/Kettering University 20-credit Certificate in Automotive Systems and Kettering's 40-credit M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Visit www.sae.org/events/training/seminars/ceu/ for more information. The courses do not have to be taken in any specified order, although A Familiarization of Drivetrain Components is a good starting point if it can be scheduled as one's first course. Required Courses
