Why Southern California?

AeroTech 2020 will be held in Pasadena, a hub for top aerospace companies with a focus on private space travel and defense. California remains the state with the highest employment levels for aerospace engineers with 11,440 employed as of May 2018 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 

A recent report by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation found that: 

  • Guided missile and space vehicles (and related parts) manufacturing employment has grown by more than 64% since 2004.
  • Almost one quarter of the national employment in this industry segment is in Southern California.

Emergency Procedures During this SAE Event


During the AeroTech 2020 event attendees are to follow the established emergency guidelines of the facility where the emergency occurs. Based on the location of the incident, report emergencies to the nearest venue representative and/or security personnel if available, or report to the SAE registration area.

Should a catastrophic event occur, attendees should follow the safety and security instructions issued by the facility at the time of the event. This includes listening for instructions provided through the public address system and following posted evacuation routes if required.

In the event of an emergency or a major disruption to the schedule of events at AeroTech, attendees and exhibitors may call this number to receive further information about the resumption of this event. Updates will also be provided via the SAE website at www.sae.org/aerotech and the mobile app.
