AeroTech 2020 Cancellation Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why was this event cancelled?

The recently declared State of Emergency issued by the City of Pasadena, along with guidance from health authorities, government- and corporate-imposed travel restrictions, and general concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, resulted in SAE International making the difficult decision to cancel the AeroTech event.

2. When will the virtual event occur?

We will be providing a unique virtual experience June 2-3, 2020. Visit the AeroTech Digital Summit website for more information.

3. Can I get a refund on my registration?

Attendees:  A full refund will be offered to registrants. However, if you would like access to the technical papers that were part of AeroTech, SAE International is offering access for a 30% discount off of your registration.

Exhibitors:  A full refund will be offered to exhibitors. As we fully intend to hold the 2021 AeroTech event in Orlando from March 9-11, interested exhibitors can secure space for the event now with a rollover of 20% for 2021.

4. Can I get a refund on my hotel?

Please contact the Westin Pasadena at +1-626-304-1403 to discuss the refund or transfer policies. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy for a full refund.

Hotel reservations made through the event housing company via the link provided on the Hotel & Travel page will be cancelled automatically. You do not need to take action. If you made alternate lodging arrangements, you will have to personally cancel them.

5. Can I get a refund on my travel?

Please contact your travel provider directly to discuss refund or transfer policies.

6. What is the impact on scheduled SAE events, courses and programs?

The ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to impact the travel, hospitality and events sectors. As a responsible partner, SAE International has made the decision to either postpone or transition many of our 2020 events, courses and programs to virtual platforms. The digital events allow for continued education and knowledge sharing in a convenient and safe “at-home” setting for all parties. We continue to monitor the situation to determine the best approach for all future SAE events. Should the status of any other SAE event or program change, information will be promptly shared to all registered participants, attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and other parties, through direct communications and via the specific event’s webpage.

7. What is the status of the AeroConnect Challenge™?

The AeroConnect Challenge™ will be hosting virtual participation for team presentations. We will work with all teams to schedule and continue the challenge virtually. For more information and updates, please click here.

8. What is the status of SAE standards committee meetings scheduled in conjunction with AeroTech?
