The Role of Standards in Safely introducing Innovations in Aerospace

Presented by: David Alexander, SAE International

Integration of Digital Standards in Product Development

As the aerospace market has begun maturing its use of novel technologies within product development, the use of standards in product development struggles to keep up. SAE International, in partnership with Cognistx, has developed AI technology to automatically bulk convert highly complex, highly variable, engineering documents into higher utility digital definitions. Learn how these digital definitions of industry standards allow for a reduction in transcription errors, improved change management, operational efficiencies, and the potential for being inputs to other AI models for design optimization.

Presented by: Audra Ziegenfuss, SAE International & Eric Nyberg, Cognistx

Addressing Safety and Security Across the Aerospace Sector

Enterprise level considerations for safety and security are critical for the successful development and deployment of aerospace products and services. However, what happens once these products and services are deployed is often a matter needing to be addressed for the industry as a whole. Even knowing which products and services will provide sufficient benefit can be challenging. Bringing together OEMs, suppliers, government agencies and academia to identify and navigate these complex issues is crucial for a safe and secure, holistic ecosystem. We will take a look at some of these industry level issues and explore some of the ways they can be addressed by the industry as a whole.
