Tour Volvo Cars’ first plant in the U.S.

Upon opening, the Berkeley County, SC, factory will be the global production home of the all-new S60 Sedan, which is currently under development at Volvo Car Group headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. American-built S60s will be exported around the world through the Port of Charleston, along with another model yet to be determined. The first South Carolina-built Volvos are expected to roll off the assembly line in late 2018.
Volvo Car USA estimates that the factory will employ up to 2000 people over the next decade and up to 4000 in the longer term. The plant would contribute approximately $4.8 billion in total economic output on an annual basis.

Additional Information:
- Visitors' badge must be worn at all times; safety glasses will be provided at the time of the tour
- No photography or video recording permitted inside of the plant
- Remain with escort at all times
Clearance:
Visitors must provide acceptable documents to establish U.S. Person status at the time of the visit. A U.S. Person is a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee. Acceptable documents to prove U.S. Person status include the following:
- U.S. passport;
- Driver’s license
- For non-U.S. person visitors, acceptable proof of citizenship is a valid passport. Non-U.S. persons who are unable to provide proof of citizenship will not be permitted to access the facility.
