- Sign up for young professional (YP) speed-mentoring events
- Bring business cards
- Dress code—business casual
- Comfortable shoes, no ties, pants/khakis, dress shirt (coat/jacket optional)
- A lot of sitting, dress suitably
- Make sure your name badge is visible at all times
- Introduce yourself to as many people as you can. Companies want to meet new people and look for hiring potential. Increase your network.
- Laptops not required.Bring note-taking material
- All the presentation material will be available to all conference attendees after the event for those speakers who permit. Photos are NOT permitted in session rooms.
- Visit the SAE Membership Lounge in Hethrow Room. All YPs are invited to kick back and relax in the lounge. Not a Member? Ask about how you can get a free membership for a year*.
- *Offer available to nonmembers only.
- It is acceptable to deal with business issues while at COMVEC. If you need to slip in and out of sessions, be courteous.
- Networking:
- Morning coffee, breaks, lunches, and receptions are all included on the day of your registration.
- Expect to meet with the following types of individuals at COMVEC:
- Corporate executives, engineering management, R&D, students and YPs, marketing/sales
- OEMs, suppliers and service providers, government labs, academia/universities, international
- Don’t be afraid to give feedback to SAE staff, executive council members, or via the event survey during or after the event
- Check the SAE website for parking information and hotel guides and maps before you arrive.
