Panelist

Catharina Modahl Nilsson

Chief Technology Officer, TRATON Group

As Head of CTO of TRATON Group, Catharina Modahl Nilsson is responsible for the cooperation between the brands of TRATON Group (Scania, MAN, VWCO and Navistar). In the CTO Office, she works with strategic perspective to obtain synergies between the brands within R&D, Purchasing and Production.

Catharina is also responsible for running and hosting the highest product decision forum in the group and is a permanent participant of TRATON Group Executive Board (Truck Board).

Catharina Modahl Nilsson was most recently the Executive Vice President for R&D at Permobil, a Swedish company. She has comprehensive knowledge of the automotive industry. After almost 23 years at Scania and three and a half years as Head of Chassis, Cab, Bus and Complete Vehicle in the TRATON GROUP, she will return to the Company at the start of next year as its CTO.

Anders Williamsson

Executive Vice President, Head of Industrial Operations, Scania

Anders Williamsson was born in 1969 and joined Scania in 1994 as a Management trainee after obtaining a Master of Science Industrial and Engineering Management from Chalmers University of Technology. Since 1997, Williamsson held a number of management positions within Scania operations in Sweden. In 2004 he obtained the position as Plant Manager of the Axles Production unit in Falun, Sweden and in 2009 he joined Purchasing as Purchasing Director, Chassis & Buses. Anders Williamsson was appointed Executive Vice President and Head of Purchasing in 2016 and in 2021 he was appointed Executive Vice President, Head of Industrial Operations.

Michael G. Grahe

Executive Vice President, Operations, Navistar International Corporation

Michael Grahe is Executive Vice President, Operations of Navistar International Corporation. He is responsible for product development, procurement, quality and project management and is member of the Executive Board of Navistar Inc. 

Prior to his current role, Grahe was Chief Technology Officer of the TRATON GROUP and was based in Sweden. At TRATON, he oversaw the Technology and Product Planning, strategic Procurement as well as all Alliance Management activities of the TRATON GROUP. 

Grahe has a vast history in the commercial vehicle industry, started working at Mercedes-Benz Vans for Daimler in Germany and later as Director at Mitsubishi’s FUSO Truck & Bus Corporation in Japan. He then returned to Daimler as Director of Global Procurement Powertrain Trucks & Buses and thereafter Director of Global Controlling R&D & Procurement Daimler Trucks & Busses before joining the TRATON GROUP.

Grahe holds a master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technical University Berlin.

Darren Gosbee

Vice President, Powertrain and Advanced Technology, Navistar International Corporation

Darren Gosbee is Vice President, Powertrain and Advanced Technology for commercial vehicles manufactured by Navistar International Corporation. Based at Navistar’s world headquarters in Lisle, Illinois, just outside Chicago, he is responsible for development of Advanced Vehicle Technology as well as overseeing the design, development and installation of all Navistar and vendor engines used in International® trucks and IC Bus® school buses. 

In this role, Darren is also responsible for the development of Navistar’s SuperTruck II program with the U.S. Department of Energy. Certification and compliance activities for Navistar engines and vehicles complete Darren’s portfolio of responsibilities.

Darren holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from City University, London and a master’s degree in advanced automotive engineering from Loughborough University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering Technology, a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, and a member of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).
