2020 DoD Maintenance Symposium Canceled

Due to concerns around the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Defense and SAE International have made the responsible decision to cancel the 2020 DoD Maintenance Symposium, originally scheduled for December 7-10, 2020, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Before making this decision, we extensively monitored and evaluated health directives from governmental and international health authorities, government- and corporate-imposed travel restrictions, and social distancing directives implemented at the Kansas City Convention Center. We remain firmly committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our participants, attendees, partners and staff, and apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation has caused.

The length and global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic remain unknown, but planning has begun for conducting an even more robust 2021 DoD Maintenance Symposium, scheduled for December 6-9, 2021, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. If you already registered to exhibit or sponsor the at the 2020 Defense Maintenance and Logistics Exhibition, you have the option to either roll over your agreement and deposits to next year’s event or receive a full refund. We appreciate your valuable support and hope you will join us in 2021 as we look ahead to deliver the defense maintenance and sustainment enterprises with an extraordinary learning, collaboration, and technology exploration opportunity.

Theme: Forging a More Resilient and Responsive Sustainment Enterprise

Drive Defense Materiel Readiness Recovery Forward

The Department’s urgent and ongoing readiness recovery journey must succeed and requires both government organizations and industry, side-by-side, to achieve the goals set in the National Defense Strategy. Recent efforts focused on increasing the   availability of critical DoD platforms have yielded improvement — but the current global environment requires us to accelerate our pace.

Annually, the DoD Maintenance Symposium and co-located Defense Maintenance and Logistics Exhibition brings over 1,600 defense maintenance professionals together for four days of concentrated learning, collaboration, and technology exploration.
The Symposium is the only DoD event solely focused on maintenance of weapon systems and equipment. Defense maintenance and sustainment professionals from government, industry, and academia converge in Kansas City, Missouri, this December to engage  on issues in this event that includes:

  • Senior keynote presentations
  • Plenary panels
  • Breakout and tutorial technical sessions
  • Associated meetings
  • The annual SecDef Maintenance Awards Ceremony
