"Consumer Acceptance and Behavior with Today's Vehicle and Technology Offerings"

Consumer acceptance of technologies has never been more critical to the success of today’s vehicle. Nonetheless, even with all the amazing features that are possible in today’s new vehicles, the average length of car ownership is 12 years and growing. Why? Adoption of advanced propulsion and safety features are being dramatically impacted by new outside forces such as social media, political affiliation, and consumer understanding of technology capabilities in addition to traditional economics. The intent of this conversation is to unpack these and other influences on consumers wants versus needs and ultimately what is triggering their buying habits. Come hear insights on what is impacting spending habits on new vehicle purchases and to examine how as an industry we can move the needle to faster turnover of vehicles.

Moderator: Myra Blanco, VTTI

"Election Impacts - What Keeps the Mobility Industry up at Night"

With the advent of a new year, the mobility sector faces a complex landscape of trade disputes, industrial policies, competitiveness challenges, new regulatory requirements and ongoing supply chain shifts. This complexity sits on a foundation of fundamental change and transformation within the industry. The federal government has been, and will remain, a key stakeholder and leader on many of these concerns. Please join us for a unique panel discussion to explore these issues and to delve deeper into the particular topics that will impact the industry as Congress convenes for its 119th session and the new Administration commences its efforts.

This panel will address the results of the 2024 elections and provide an informed assessment of the projected impact on issues of direct interest to the mobility industry. Our speakers will address a wide scope of concerns, including: the makeup of the 119th Congress; tax reform and the future prospects for specific items such as the EV tax credit; the Administration’s 100-days agenda; potential changes to the Inflation Reduction Act and the specific programs focused on auto sector growth; the U.S.-China relationship and the tariff landscape; and new emissions and vehicle safety requirements.
