Advanced Propulsion

For the last 100 years, the internal combustion engine has been the prominent solution to ground vehicle propulsion. Over the course of this time, the ICE has seen dramatic technological breakthroughs that have allowed it to reach remarkable levels of quality, performance, fuel burn, and emissions reduction.

The Advanced Propulsion track of Innovations in Mobility will explore future technology development in the areas of transmission, driveline, all-wheel drive, range extenders, hybrid/electric transmission and driveline, batteries, battery charging, fuel cells, fuel and engine co-optimization, net zero carbon fuels, natural gas, and engine materials.
