PF&L 2020 Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. Why was the in-person event canceled?

Due to concerns around the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, along with health directives and guidance from governmental and international health authorities, government- and corporate-imposed travel restrictions, and distancing and gathering directives and recommendations, resulted in SAE International making the responsible decision to cancel the in-person Powertrains, Fuels & Lubricants (PF&L) Meeting and transition to a virtual experience.

2. Can I get a refund on my registration?

Attendees: All registered attendees will receive a full refund.

Exhibitors & Sponsors: Exhibiting and sponsoring companies will be automatically included in our virtual event. Our sales team will reach out directly to discuss participation and allocation of money paid across the 2020 virtual event and planned 2021 in-person event. Should you not wish to participate in the virtual event or planned 2021 in-person event, we will offer a full refund.

3. Will there be a virtual event to present the content?

We are transitioning the in-person event to a virtual event to ensure all content is available to all parties. We will be providing a unique virtual experience September 22-23, 2020. Visit the PF&L Digital Summit website for more information

4. Can I get a refund on my travel?

Many airlines are offering change fee waivers for booked airfare. Please contact your travel provider for their currently established fee and cancellation policies.

5. Will the cancellation impact the publication of PF&L technical papers?

All approved technical papers from PF&L 2020 will be published and available for purchase.

6. When is the next in-person PF&L event planned?

We plan to be live in San Diego, California, USA, for PF&L 2021, and plan to return to Krakow, Poland, for PF&L 2022.
