Critical Panel Discussions at TMSS
SCOPE: Heat pump systems utilize a series of complex thermal management loops with sophisticated flow controls. Utilizing a series of refrigerant and coolant loops, heat pump system reduces the energy needed for powertrain thermal management and cabin comfort.
The system currently targets BEVs and can extend their driving range during cold runs. While few systems are in production today, there is still lots to be learned about the technical challenges and the benefits from heat pump systems given their complex design and control requirements.
SCOPE: This panel addresses the issues of design of thermal components and systems in Battery Electric, Hydrogen Direct Injections, Fuel Cells Vehicles and ICE.
Experts will focus on vehicle component thermal considerations, challenges of technology integration, customer requirements, and aspects of energy usage.

We’re excited to introduce a new feature at this year’s TMSS! Our Chat with the Experts event provides an engagement opportunity for you to ask your burning questions to our assembled group of subject matter experts (SME) on a wide variety of topics in short, focused sessions. Each SME will lead a brief expert discussion on their pre-recorded presentations and answer any questions that you may have on their area of expertise that is moving the advancement of design, deployment, and development of future vehicles forward.
The Chat with the Experts is a GREAT PLACE to have your questions addressed and to help problem solve issues surrounding unsettled and established thermal management technologies in a casual small group environment.
The Chat with the Experts session will take place in the TMSS exhibit area starting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4. Prior to the event, we will send registered attendees directions to access the presentations that will be reviewed during the session. Be sure to review these presentations and come prepared to engage in this interactive session during the reception!
