SAE Demo Days is Coming to WCX

SAE Autonomous Demo Days is a public facing event created to give people hands on experience with automated vehicles and reinforce engineering advancements designed to enable safety and show the differences between ADAS and automated functions. 

SAE, in partnership with PAVE [Partners for Automated Vehicle Education] and Dataspeed, will give WCX attendees a chance to test ride the future during the event: 


WCX AV Demo Days Schedule:

  • Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Location: Cobo Hall B

How to Catch Your Ride in an Automated Vehicle


Get a first-hand experience riding in an automated vehicle while attending WCX.

To catch a ride, visit the demo area in Hall B during the scheduled times listed above. No appointment or reservation required. 

The rides will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.

Learn about the technology behind autonomous vehicles while riding in a self-driving Dataspeed car! Demonstrations will utilize Lidar, mapping, and localization to autonomously navigate through an area. You’ll also gain knowledge on teleoperation by chatting with our safety driver while you control the vehicle from the backseat.
