Executive Panel Announced for SAE International Transmission and Driveline Technologies Symposium

SAE International announces an executive panel to be hosted at the Transmission and Driveline Technologies Symposium, taking place November 14-15 in Dearborn, Mich. The Transmission and Driveline Technologies Symposium provides attendees with critical updates on technologies in the transmission and driveline markets, valuable networking opportunities and the chance to experience the newest technologies and service solutions in the industry.

SAE International is excited to present the executive panel on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m., directly following the opening keynote from Professor Peter Tenberge of Ruhr Universitaet Bochum in Germany. The panel is titled “Impact of Growing Acceptance of Shared-Mobility on Vehicle Volumes - Is the end of traditional transmissions and drivelines near?”. The panel will be moderated by Larry Nitz, the Executive Director of Global Transmissions and Electrification at General Motors Company. With 40 years of experience in gasoline engines, manual and automatic transmissions, propulsion and vehicle controls, and hybrid and electric systems, Nitz’s perspective of the evolving automotive industry will help guide the discussion on the future of transmissions and drivelines.

Additional panel participants include Patrick Lindemann, VP of Development at Schaeffler-LuK, Andreas Schamel, Managing Director of European Ford Research & Innovation Center with Ford Motors, Shea Burns, VP of Consulting at Scenaria, and Dean Tomazic, Executive VP and CTO of FEV. With their unique experiences and collective knowledge, the panelist will discuss the current state of the industry and give us an idea of what the future holds based on the adoption of shared-mobility.

The Transmission and Driveline Symposium will host 24 sessions including daily keynotes and expert panels. The technical program offers insightful and imperative sessions on smart cities, cybersecurity, electronics and sensors, user interface and intelligence, validation test centers, SAE standards, the legal implications of automated driving, and more.
