SAE International announces the publication of AS9138™: Aerospace Series – Quality Management Systems Statistical Product Aerospace Requirements.
An upgrade and replacement for the Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) 9013-series of documents originally prepared and published by the Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG) in 2005, this new document standardizes and streamlines requirements and flexible resources on statistical techniques for product acceptance across the diversity of aerospace industry processes.
In addition, it establishes the general requirements when implementing any of the statistical product acceptance methods, along with the minimum content required to be covered in an organization’s documented procedures that govern their application of statistical product acceptance methods.
AS9138 compliments SAE International’s AS13002 Requirements for Developing and Qualifying Alternate Inspection Frequency Plans standard.
