SAE International’s WCX World Congress Experience, the three-day event that unites the best talent in the worldwide mobility industry, is pleased to share the line-up of technical programs that will ensure attendees are on pace with future technology development. With over 1,000 hours of expert-led technical sessions, organized in seven specialized tracks, attendees will have a front row seat to powerful insights and current thinking on topics that will impact future vehicle development and society.
“WCX is continually projecting forward to ensure the industry has the tools, knowledge and expertise needed to succeed in an era where technology is being integrated at a rate never seen from a systems perspective,” said Marc LeDuc, Director Content Development. “The technical sessions are imperative to remain competitive and keep pace with future technology development and the impact they will have on future vehicle development and society.”
WCX’s technical sessions not only provide a glimpse into the future, but also provide the latest advancements in technology from leading subject-matter experts from around the globe.
Industry innovators and trailblazers will host sessions on the following thought provoking topics:
Integrated Design & Manufacturing: The integrated design & manufacturing sessions articulate theoretical developments and provide information on real-life application to the industry in the areas of process capability, productivity, reliability, robust design, DFM (design for manufacturability), global supply chain integration and world-class manufacturing performance in the mobility industry.
Advanced Propulsion and Powertrain: The powertrain, fuels and lubricants sessions focus on information in the area of properties, selection, processing, performance, use, and effects of fuels and lubricants related to spark ignition, diesel engines, and associated drivelines, along with all combustion and emission considerations.
Connectivity/IoT/Smartcity/Automotive Electronics: Explore and investigate the ever-growing world of automobile electronics that affect virtually every aspect of today’s vehicle. Topics include Intelligent Transportation Systems, Software, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Testing and Instrumentation, Vehicle Diagnostics, Simulation and Modeling Mechatronics, Vehicle Sensors and Actuators, Multimedia Systems, Vehicle Information & Communication Security, Safety-Critical Systems, and others.
Materials and Lightweighting: Materials engineering sessions focus on the areas of properties, selection, processing and performance of materials.
Emissions/Environment/Sustainability: These sessions focus on areas of vehicle emission, environmental impacts and sustainability including thermal management, exhaust emissions, particulates, modeling as well as end-of-life, alternate energy and electrification strategies.
Body/Chassis/Occupant and Pedestrian Safety/Structure: These sessions are related to body engineering, fire safety, human factors, noise and vibration, occupant protection, steering and suspension, tire and wheel, as well as vehicle aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics.
Connect2Car: These sessions focus on the latest and most critical industry information on automotive connectivity including automated driving, smart cities, cyber security and technology integration.
Industry panels and special topics will also be covered throughout the event in the Tech Hub and the Leadership Summit housed in the Exchange on the exhibition floor. The Tech Hub is focused on exploring the future of transportation technology to include forward thinking topics related to mobility engineering practices and application. In the Leadership Summit, executives will discuss relevant, challenging and timely topics in technology and business development. Sessions will be collaborative with an interactive exchange of ideas. Speakers hail from the industry’s leading companies, organizations and Universities, to include: AT&T Internet of Things Solution, BMW Group, Ford, General Motors, Harman Connected Service, Infineon Technologies AG, Intel, Lockheed Martin Corp., M1 Concourse, Stanford, Department of Transportation and more.
