John Deere’s Michele Kaiser Honored with the SAE International Rodica Baranescu Award for Technical & Leadership Excellence

Michele Kaiser, John Deere Manager of Supplier Quality for John Deere Construction and Forestry Division, has received SAE International’s Rodica Baranescu Award for Technical & Leadership Excellence for her countless contributions to the Commercial Vehicle community.  The award was presented at the annual Awards Ceremony during the SAE International WCX World Congress Experience, recently held Detroit.
Established in 2011, this award celebrates the successes of women in the engineering profession and recognizes their leadership and technical contributions in various engineering sectors including Commercial Vehicles, Automotive and Aerospace. The intent of the award is to stimulate the involvement of women in engineering as well as open doors for young females interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities who wish to pursue engineering careers. Dr. Rodica Baranescu is an SAE Fellow, Past President of SAE International, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Ms. Kaiser is an engineering leader within the off-road commercial vehicle industry, where she achieves tremendous successes for her organization through an engaged team, disciplined supplier development, and aligned execution with Deere factories and the supply base.  Michele joined Deere in 2011 and has held positions in Engineering, Program Management, and Quality.  Prior to Deere, Ms. Kaiser worked in engineering at Cummins and Behr, including an international assignment in Stuttgart, Germany.  She holds a BS degree from the University of Dayton and a Masters of Engineering Management from the University of Wisconsin. Ms. Kaiser has co-authored three technical papers and holds one international patent.
