Troy A. Clarke, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, Navistar International Corp., addressed a standing room-only crowd, sharing his thoughts on Disruptive Technologies: An OEM’s Perspective; during his opening keynote address, Mr. Clarke discussed his company’s vision for the industry’s future, and the role these technologies can play in benefiting both individual and industry participants and society at large.
This year, COMVEC offered a look into the future not only in terms of advanced technologies for the commercial vehicle industry, but also in terms of the engineers who will be deploying those technologies. COMVEC’s young professionals (YPs) program provided more than 110 YPs with an immersive event experience. “I want to do what I can to make sure that the YP generation feels more comfortable reaching out and growing our network with each other,” shared Christine Hilmer, Integration Engineer, Cummins.
COMVEC’s technical program featured over 30 additional sessions spanning a variety of topics including data driven decision making, changes in the data landscape and posits on the future of business, the evolution of big data techniques to promote prognostic development, improvements in the overall energy management of the system, efficiencies of hybrid and full-electric powertrains, the future role of aerodynamic design methods, tools and processes, among others.
Organizers released the dates of September 9-11, 2019 for the 2019 event. Additional details on COMVEC will be released shortly. To keep up-to-date with the latest information, visit sae.org/comvec.
