SAE International Publishes New Aerospace Recommended Practice to Achieve Maintenance Credits using Aerospace Propulsion Health Management Systems

SAE International announces the publishing of the new aerospace recommended practice, “ARP5987: A Process for Utilizing Aerospace Propulsion Health Management Systems for Maintenance Credit.”

The process detailed within ARP5987 can be applied to commercial and military applications. It applies to the entire end-to-end EHM system throughout its lifecycle, covering on-board and on-ground elements.

AR5987 is designed to provide a process to achieve maintenance credits in a consistent way and will help regulators carry out assessments of the merits of a maintenance credit application with a view to provide approval.

“ARP5987: A Process for Utilizing Aerospace Propulsion Health Management Systems for Maintenance Credit” was issued by SAE International’s E-32 Aerospace Propulsion Systems Health Management committee.
