New SAE International Competition to Recognize Students and Young Professionals for Outstanding Technical Research

A new competition from SAE international will spotlight talent from the next generation of mobility engineers.

The SAE Student/Young Professional Technical Paper Competition will honor outstanding work done by active SAE student members or active SAE young professional members (18-34 years old) – those at the forefront of the transformation of mobility engineering.

Winners of this exclusive competition – only the top two student and two young professional papers will be chosen – will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to present their papers at the inaugural SAE Innovations in Mobility event, which will be held Oct. 28-31, 2019, in Novi, Mich.

All accepted applicants for the competition will have their technical papers published by SAE International.

Technical papers will be accepted in the following automotive technology areas:
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Advanced Materials
  • Advanced Propulsion
  • Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles
  • On-demand Mobility
Submissions will follow standard SAE event paper review and publishing practices; and all papers receiving approval will be published by SAE. Final technical paper submissions will be reviewed and judged by the Competition Review Panel.

Members are invited to submit their abstract online by no later than March 25, 2019. More details are available at
