SAE International’s® Small Powertrains and Energy Systems Technology Conference Addresses Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Solutions

Speakers to Share Insight on Current, and Future, Small Engine Technology and Customer Satisfaction Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, Minneapolis, Minn.

WARRENDALE, Pa. (Oct. 4, 2023)SAE International® in partnership with the Japanese Society of Automotive Engineers (JSAE), will host the Small Powertrains and Energy Systems Technology Conference (SETC) at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minn., October 31 - November 2, 2023.

The event provides a forum for small engine (1600cc or less) global manufacturers, suppliers, researchers and engineers to address the similar requirements for emission controls and fuel efficiency as the light and heavy-duty sectors, with a push toward all electric propulsion. Topics will provide attendees with the opportunity to discover and discuss innovative and emerging technologies in small engine and motor performance, fuel economy and energy efficiency, and reduced emissions.

Industry keynote speakers will share their insight on current, and future, small engine technology and customer satisfaction:

  • Jeff Matthews, Vice President of Engineering, Powertrain, Polaris, will share insight on “Development of Powersports Powertrains to Meet the Challenges of a Changing Global Environment while Delighting Customers.”

  • Michael Chrzanowski, President & CEO of Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, will share how “Yamaha Motor Corporation's Transformation Approach for Carbon Neutral Challenges Means Rethinking Solutions for Society.”

The SETC program is created for propulsion and powertrain engineers, research and development, and environment engineers to gain new insight and solutions to the challenges of small vehicle engine development and opens the door to critical conversations that address the most common challenges and solutions to small engine development for a variety of applications including, motorcycles, ATVs, marine, and lawn and garden equipment.
