More Than 1,000 Cutting-Edge Engineering and Technology Research Articles to be Available on SAE Mobilus Online Platform
WARRENDALE, Pa. (Sept. 24, 2024) – SAE International® and SAE Government Technologies (SAE GT) announce a partnership with the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Michigan Chapter, to publish the entire collection of technical papers spanning 16 years of the NDIA’s Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering & Technology Symposium (GVSETS). The GVSETS is the premier science and technology event directly supporting the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) and its scientific research community, led by Dr. David Gorsich, Chief Scientist at GVSC.
The collection includes more than 1,000 full-text preeminent, cutting-edge research articles covering the latest advancements in engineering and technology of military ground vehicles. SAE International will publish the papers on its online platform SAE Mobilus to make them easily searchable and free to everyone.
"Our collaboration with SAE International is about more than just sharing research – it's about amplifying the incredible work of our engineers and researchers,” said GVSETS Chair, Jim McManus. “By partnering with SAE, we ensure that the groundbreaking research presented at GVSETS gains the recognition and visibility it deserves, helping to document and share innovative solutions to the challenges our Army faces. This partnership is crucial for fostering collaboration and advancing the initial steps in systems modernization, ultimately supporting our warfighters by exploring what's possible in defense technology."
"I am so glad we partnered with SAE to ensure the papers published with NDIA at our annual GVSETS event are shared and indexed,” Dr. Gorsich said. “Sharing across government, academia and industry on our lessons learned and activities is very important. I am encouraged we now partnered with a long-time friend on keeping a record of all the engagements."
“This is a fitting development for the long-standing partnership SAE has had in the Michigan defense and U.S. Army ground vehicles,” stated Brandon Card, SAE ITC Executive Director. “We are thrilled that our team will help bring greater reach to the work that researchers, innovators, and government regulators are learning and applying to protect warfighters.”
