Advancing the Sustainment Enterprise for Global Competitive Advantages is the Focus of Annual DoD Maintenance Symposium

This is the Premier Forum for the Greatest Maintenance and Logistics Minds in the Country to Exchange Ideas and Best Practices

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 14, 2024) – The Department of Defense (DoD) Maintenance Symposium, along with SAE International’s co-located Defense Maintenance and Logistics Exhibition, is the only DoD event conducted by the Office of the Secretary of Defense focused on the maintenance of weapon systems and equipment.  This premier event brings together leading professionals from across government and public and private defense industry sectors to address the evolving challenges and innovations in defense maintenance and sustainment.

This annual event brings together experts across areas such as aerospace, land systems, maritime, and cyber defense, tackling key topics like artificial intelligence in maintenance, cybersecurity of defense systems, sustainability initiatives, and new developments in predictive maintenance technologies.

The Department of Defense Maintenance Awards will also be a highlight of the event, honoring organizations and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in military maintenance and sustainment.

The 2024 Symposium will be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, December 10-13, 2024.  It is the premier forum where the country’s greatest maintenance and logistics minds exchange ideas and discuss the pacing national security threats to the sustainment enterprise.

Panels will discuss sustainment topics critical to homeland defense and securing America’s interest around the globe including organic industrial base resiliency, sustainment strategies for global integrated deterrence, data as the linchpin for weapon system and equipment sustainment, and much more.  Additional special events include:

  • The Annual Secretary of Defense Maintenance Awards ceremony

  • The Third Annual DoD Weapon Systems Software Summit

  • Maintenance Innovation Challenge

  • Tours of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, KIHOMAC, and the 309th Software Engineering Group
