Citation

The Citation is the primary basis of the nomination by which the submittal will be judged. Describe the nominee’s specific, verifiable accomplishment(s) in 1 to 2 sentences totaling 50 words or less. The accomplishments mentioned in the Citation must be elaborated in the Major Technical Achievements write-up then supported or confirmed by the references’ support letters. Please note that if the nominee is elected, this Citation will be read at the award ceremony and published in SAE Update.

Major Technical Achievements

Significant Contributions: Please complete the following area with up to five concise paragraphs about the nominee’s most important achievements. Examples might include: a technical innovation with major impact and broad applicability; a new engineering or manufacturing process that drove major improvements in productivity and/or quality; or work that strongly influenced a new mobility-related standard, government policy or legislation. a.) Describe the nature and impact of the nominee’s individual technical efforts, and/or b.) Describe the scope and impact of a technical team led by the nominee and the nominee’s role in the achievement, and/or c.) Appendix A (For members with less than 10 years of membership service)

SAE Fellow nominations can be considered for review by the SAE Fellows Committee if the candidates have two (2) full years of membership service completed at the time of application plus at least 10 years of significant volunteer contributions to SAE International. Each volunteer activity will be reviewed by a Fellows committee representative to determine if it was a significate volunteer contribution to SAE International based on the information provided below. Part 1 – Letter to the SAE Fellows committee The nominator should address a letter to the Fellows committee explaining why the nominee should be considered for Fellowship. The letter should outline a clear history of volunteer and contributor service to SAE that impacted both the organization and the mobility industry for a minimum of 10 years. Part 2 - Volunteer activity details All volunteer information listed in Appendix A, part two must be verifiable, SAE-related, volunteer activities. The nominator must clearly list 10 full years of outstanding volunteer activity. Note: volunteer service years may not run concurrently, meaning individuals can only receive credit for one volunteer activity per year.
