Student Article Contest

Student Article Contest

Exercise Your Writing Skills and Win $500

As a Student Member of SAE International seeking a career in the mobility industry, you most likely had to solve a problem as part of a course project, an extracurricular project, or a personal project involving an air, ground, or marine vehicle(s). For a new article contest sponsored by the SAE International Membership business unit, describe your solution and explain your thought process in arriving at it.

The winner gets a $500 cash prize and, perhaps of greater lasting value to the winner, publication of his or her article in the February 2020 issue of MOMENTUM, SAE International’s student-focused magazine. Non-winning entries will be considered for possible publication in subsequent issues, no guarantees.

Deadline to submit an article is November 1, 2019.

Judging

The MOMENTUM editor will judge the entries with the help of the SAE Membership staff, based on:

  1. How well the submitter followed the rules as outlined above.
  2. How useful his or her explanation of the engineering challenge and solution might be to readers in approaching their own engineering challenges.
  3. How well the images support the article text.

The winner will be announced on December 2, 2019.
