Aims and Scope
The SAE International Journal of Commercial Vehicles showcases state-of-the-art engineering research by promoting high-quality theoretical and applied investigations. The Journal achieves this goal by publishing only those peer-reviewed scientific articles on the design, modeling, controlling, and testing of commercial vehicles that bring strong empirical and theoretical contributions to the current and future body of knowledge.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
This journal is a member of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). The journal’s publication processes and ethics policies follow COPE guidelines.
Editor-in-Chief: Corina Sandu, Ph.D., Virginia Tech, USA
Sandu is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech, an ASME Fellow, and the Director of the Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory. She received her engineering diploma from the Bucharest Polytechnic Institute in Romania (1991) and her MS (1995) and Ph.D. (2000) in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa. She worked at Michigan Tech as a visiting and research faculty for three years before joining Virginia Tech as an Assistant Professor in 2003. Sandu's research focuses on modeling and simulation of multibody dynamics under uncertainty, parameter estimation, design optimization, stochastic soil and terrain modeling, on- and off-road vehicle dynamics, tire and track modeling, and terramechanics. In 2007, she received the SAE Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award and in 2013 the SAE Forest R. McFarland Award and the Rodica Baranescu Award. Sandu is Chair of the SAE Chassis and Suspension Committee and Secretary of the ASME DED Executive Committee. She is also an active member of ISTVS, and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the SAE International Journal for Commercial Vehicles, Editor of the Journal of Terramechanics, and Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics.
