Call for Papers—SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars–Electronic and Electrical Systems

SAE International's scholarly journals welcome authors from industry, academia, and government to submit original research for potential journal publication. Authors are invited to submit review-ready manuscripts featuring a detailed description of the research (including methodology, assumptions, hardware, observations, analysis, and a comparison of results with prior work). Papers that are deemed appropriate will undergo a comprehensive double-blind peer review for potential publication in the Journal.

Aims & Scope

The SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars–Electronic and Electrical Systems aims to be the primary source of comprehensive and innovative research in the areas of electrical and electronic systems and components such as those related to connectivity and communications, controls, active safety, infotainment, intelligent vehicle systems, electromagnetic compatibility, actuators, diagnosis, and related subjects. It provides a platform for researchers and practicing engineers to present their advanced work-not just engineering applications but work that develops new knowledge-and follow the state of the art within automotive engineering.

The Journal strives to facilitate discussion between researchers, engineers, academic faculty and students, and industry practitioners working with systems as well as components, and the technological aspects and functions of powertrains and propulsion systems alternative to the traditional combination of internal combustion engine and mechanical transmission.

Publications in this Journal are based on peer reviews; the Journal accepts authoritative, non-biased original research-theoretical and applied-on the electrical and electronics systems of modern passenger automobiles. Following a strict peer review, accepted papers are of outstanding and archival value, which either advance the state of the art, or insightfully review and present prior research in ways which increase understanding of the field.

In addition to full-length research papers, the Journal also publishes other communications that offer a comprehensive and non-biased overview of the directions and practices in this area, as well as short papers, based on similar quality criteria.

SAE's scholarly journals are currently running open Calls for Papers which are not subject to deadlines. Submissions will be evaluated throughout the year. Being published in SAE's scholarly journals can raise an author's profile in the automotive, aerospace, or commercial vehicles fields, while contributing to the industry's body of technical knowledge.

Submissions can be uploaded online via Editorial Manager—SAE's submission and peer review system. When uploading your review-ready manuscript, please include paper title, corresponding author name, and contact information. The submission process for this journal Call for Papers is different from that of SAE's events in that SAE's journals are not considering abstracts by themselves, but rather our editors assess whether the complete paper is appropriate for a journal peer review.

SAE International scholarly journals Mission Statement

Aligning with SAE International’s mission, SAE journals publish state-of-the-art research findings that advance vehicle and system knowledge in a neutral forum for the benefit of society. Each journal serves the needs of academic and industry authors, researchers, and readers in a medium tailored for the discovery, integration, and application of research. Reflecting SAE's commitment to the highest scientific publishing standards, all published articles are rigorously peer reviewed by at least three recognized experts prior to selection by a journal's Editorial Board, and the majority of SAE journals are indexed in the Web of Science, Emerging Sources Citation Index.
